Scrapbooking

This past Thursday, I hosted a Creative Memories Scrapbooking party! I don’t know about everyone else who attended, but I had a really great time 🙂 I think it was a combination of getting together with some friends that I hadn’t seen in a while, exchanging stories about our kids and our busy lives, as well as doing something just for me that I absolutely LOVE! Scrapbooking has been a passion of mine for many years now. It began when I went to a “Crop Night” with a co-worker of my husbands, just to see what this new craze was all about. That evening, I made my first official scrapbook page layout, featuring honeymoon snapshots from Nova Scotia. Since then, I have collected massive quantities of scrapbooking “stuff” especially stickers! Stuart thinks it is cute that I get to re-live my childhood by getting out my “sticker books” to play with once in a while. While I am not a compulsive hoarder of any one thing, I would have to say that my collection of stickers might make one wonder…

Friday, we left Guelph, and headed up North for an overnight stay with family in the Owen Sound area. I really enjoyed seeing both of my Grandmothers, Aunts and Uncles, and of course my parents, and my Brother, Michael. My Mom devised a fun way to hand out Easter treats this year. She made up a wonderful basket full of goodies, and we played a card game, and as each person was eliminated from the game, they got to choose a prize from the basket! Much more original than the traditional “hide the eggs” routine! I think I enjoyed it even more, as I got to choose a prize from the basket early on in the proceedings, and there was a lot of choice!

We arrived back in town this afternoon, having enjoyed a beautiful drive in the sunshine with our sleeping son in the back seat, which allowed us to chat while we drove.   We caught up on news, exchanged ideas, and just enjoyed each other’s company.
Tomorrow, it’s rest and relaxation here at our own home (throw in a bit of cooking of course, and perhaps some visitors…) I can’t think of a better way to spend Easter Weekend.

To top off a wonderful weekend, on Monday we have our first ultrasound.   This is early to be having an ultrasound, as they don’t normally do one until around 20 weeks, but we are still a little uncertain on the timing, and not *exactly* sure how old baby is.   In any case, I am really looking forward to getting a sneak peek at this new little person.   Things sure seem to be moving right along!
