These are sinful – absolutely delicious and completely dangerous! If you’re intrigued, read on!
For years I was intimidated by brownies, and scared to make my own for fear that they wouldn’t turn out. I’m not really sure what I was afraid of, as this recipe seems to be 100% foolproof! Once you taste them, you’ll never believe how simple they are to make or how quickly they disappear!
Best Brownie Recipe Ever
1/2 cup margarine
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 cup white sugar
3/4 cup flour
1 pinch salt
Heat margarine and cocoa powder over medium heat and mix til smooth. Turn off heat. Beat eggs well, until frothy and add sugar, flour and salt. Add in chocolate mixture and stir well. I use my electric mixer for all of it. Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven for about 25 minutes, then frost with icing (recipe below)
Icing (Frost Brownies while still warm in the pan)

These were remarkably easy and remarkably good, thank you!
Does this recipe double well? Or can I just add baking powder?
Made these for a church thing and I am NOT a huge brownie fan, can typically take ’em or leave ’em, but these were AMAZING!!! If you are even a little intrigued…you really must make them. They are easy, fairly quick and dummy-proof (as are most of cat’s recipies thankfully!) and the result will knock your socks off! Try ’em – you won’t be sorry!
I’m guessing your are putting this into an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan?
@Ludo Pilfim
IT DOUBLES AMAZINGLY!!! I frequently make this for my family, everyone loves my brownies (thanks to Cat)!
Sounds very easy, I will make it tomorrow. Hubby did a dance when I told him that I’d make brownies from scratch for the very first time. 🙂

So I’m adding the sugar to the beaten eggs…mixingfor how long?)… Then adding flour before mixing again?
What size pan are these made in?
I baked for required amount of time and they still were not done. I will try baking longer next time. They were still very good!
What are the instructions for making the icing?
