Two of my favorite fresh summer dips: guacamole and hummus! I came across a recipe for this dip last evening, and changed it up to suit my own tastes – and voila! A yummy summertime dip perfect for entertaining, or for just sitting around and sharing with the family as we did this morning.

Fresh Guacamole Hummus Dip
1 or 2 avocados, peeled and pit removed
1 (15 oz.) can of chickpeas, drained
1/4 cup sweet onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 TBSP olive oil
1 lime, juiced
1 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp each salt and pepper

Mix all ingredients together in a food processor, and blend well. Serve with fresh veggies, bread sticks or chips. Note – you may also wish to add cilantro to this as it tastes great too, but I didn’t add any to mine.
