Sometimes the best inspiration for a dish comes from the sauce! I find delightful sauce mixes in the Asian grocery store, and I love to experiment and play with them to create wonderful dishes.

You may find the sauce mix I used in your local grocers, if they happen to carry an extensive selection of Asian products, or you might have to go right to the source. But in this day and age of on-line shopping, I’m sure that if you want it, you can get it! Luckily I am able to get this right here in town!

The sauce itself, I have used before for rice – and it was delicious for those as well. But I thought it would make an equally amazing sauce on noodles – and I thought right!

Ginger Asian Noodles with Shrimp & Scallops

1 package of Asian Lo Mein Noodles, cooked according to package directions
1 package Asian Sauce Mix
2 TBSP cooking oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
Piece of fresh ginger (size of a whole walnut) finely chopped
1/2 red pepper, sliced
1/2 green pepper, sliced
1 cup fresh shrimp
1 cup fresh scallops
1 bunch green onions
1 handful fresh cilantro leaves

In a large wok, fry the ginger and garlic in the oil. Add peppers, then seafood, until cooked. Add in the cooked noodles and the sauce. Mix to distribute the sauce. Top with fresh cilantro leaves.

*Other delicious additions would be: snow peas, broccoli, bean sprouts, baby corn, meats, tofu, eggs..etc. Just play with it, ad you can’t go wrong by adding in your favorite veggies or meats!
