There is nothing like a hot cup of cocoa on a cold winters night (like tonight!) This cocoa is lightly spiced and very festive. I like to stir mine with a candy cane to add some peppermint flavour.

Spiced Hot Chocolate

6 cups skim milk
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
4 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Warm the milk slowly in a medium saucepan. Make sure to stir it often so it doesn’t scorch. Whisk in the cocoa, sugar, vanilla and spices. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream. Sprinkle tops with a dash of cocoa.
